Bike bandits: CCTV captures Kim robbers on their way to hotel heist
Newly-released CCTV footage has revealed the harrowing moment Kim Kardashian's attackers arrived at her Paris hotel, ready to rob her.
French media have published the video, which shows three of the alleged crooks heading on bikes towards the reality star's plush Hôtel de Pourtalès, followed by two on foot on October 3.
The footage starts at 2.19am, but it's another 49 minutes before the men are seen leaving, this time clothed in hoods and balaclavas and with a bag visible on the front of one bike.
The footage is so grainy that it's difficult to see any faces, and police are reportedly at a loss as to who carried out the attack, in which Kim was bound, gagged and left pleading for her life as the robbers ransacked her room.
Officers did find a diamond cross necklace, worth AU$43,000, on a nearby street a day after the robbery. The necklace was one of the 13 items stolen from Kim.
And according to USA Today, the French police's Brigade de Repression du Banditisme (BRB) is investigating the Pink Panther ring of jewellery thieves, who've been credited with more than 370 heists worth $500 million.
The reality star had been in Paris for Fashion Week and was alone at the time of the robbery.
At the time of the attack her bodyguard had been protecting two of her sisters at a nearby nightclub.
Kim returned to the US a day after the terrifying ordeal and has only been since in public a handful of times, once when arriving in New York City with Kanye by her side, and most recently leaving their New York apartment to return home to LA with their two children daughter North and son Saint.
The usually open star has been silent on social media since the attack, also cancelling all public appearances, with reports suggesting Kim is done with her flashy lifestyle.
While her rep released a statement saying Kim was “badly shaken, but physically unharmed” after the attack, members of her famous family have spoken about her wellbeing in recent days.
"She’s just... it's a process," Kim's mum Kris Jenner told E! News in her first interview since the attack. "She’s... one day at a time. It's a process. What can I say?"
"I think it's just, you do what a mum does and you gather around, and you make sure she feels loved, and safe, and she's home, and that's all that matters. She wants to be with her kids, and family, and it's family first," she added.
"You start looking at the world a little differently. When you have a daughter at home who's struggling because of something horrific and tragic that happened, you start looking around a little bit differently."
Sister Khloe has also shared an update on how Kim is coping, telling Ellen DeGeneres that her big sister was still struggling after the incident.
“I mean, it's incredibly traumatic what happened to her,” the 32-year-old told the talk show host.
