Stars react to 'tragic' death of Kate Spade
Fashion designer Kate Spade was found dead at the age of 55 in her Manhattan apartment.
Not long after police confirmed the news on Tuesday night that she had died by suicide, countless celebs took to Twitter to pay tribute to the woman whose handbags have graced red carpets since the 90s.
Big Little Lies star Reese Witherspoon led the touching notes shared on social media, describing her as a “talented woman who will be dearly missed”.

While Kristen Davis — best known for her role in Sex And The City — said she’d worn her designs “for as long as I can remember”.

The actress also sent her thoughts to the mum-of-one’s family, saying she was “thinking” of them during this difficult time.

Other stars who shared messages of condolences and loss included Lena Dunham, Bette Midler and Ocean’s 8 star Mindy Kaling.

Kate sold her high end label in 2007 and launched a new fashion brand in 2016 called Frances Valentine, named after her daughter.
Kate is survived by daughter Frances and her husband, Andy Spade, who is actor David Spade’s brother.
