With so much upheaval in the fashion industry right now, the rumours of Karl Lagerfeld's retirement were almost too much to bear.
Thankfully however, Chanel have nipped those rumours right in the bud.
"The rumours about Mr Lagerfeld discontinuing the collections and the cruise collection show in Cuba being the last are unsubstantiated," a spokesperson has revealed.
The rumours stemmed from an article by Page Six, in which they claimed a friend of the designer said that: "He's really tired. He's not doing well and he's ready to stop."
Lagerfeld has been at the helm of the iconic fashion house for 33 years and is widely believed to have a life contract. In addition to Chanel - he is also creative director at Fendi as well as his own eponymous label.
At 82-years of age the chatter did not come as a surprise which is why the rumour mill went into overdrive, but for now at least it seems its business as usual at Chanel HQ.
