Commentators mocking girls for taking selfies goes viral twice over

A group of sorority girls from Arizona have been famously shamed by commentators for taking selfies at a baseball game.

The cameras were quick to point out the group of girls pulling faces at their phones as they tried to get the perfect shot and the sports commentators were having a field day making a mockery of them.

“They’re all just completely transfixed by the technology,” the commentator said before picking at individual girls.

“Look at the one on the right, I mean do you have to make faces when you’re taking selfies?” he teased.

“That’s the best one of the 300 pictures I’ve taken of myself today!” laughed the other announcer.

While this actually happened back in 2015, the video has since resurfaced and is trending on Reddit with users loving it commenting: “Hahahahaha, oh that was a good laugh. Thanks!”

While another user said: “Can’t really blame them, I like to give most sports a try so I tried watching a baseball game once, that sh*t was more than 3 hours.”

However what’s also resurfaced in the comments is what many people missed right before all the commentators started unfairly shaming them.

And that is, that the stadium announcer reportedly asked the crowd to take selfies as part of a contest or promotion, which if you look closely at the start, you can see it was all for a T-mobile promotion.

Considering the media stir that the whole selfie commotion started, the girls were later offered free tickets to another game by the Diamondbacks and Fox Sports, but the good-willed group decided to donate them to a local charity instead.
