And it’s all to do with the way you say it.
“There are 50 cows and 28 chickens. How many didn’t?”
Yes, that’s the riddle.

The first thing you’ll notice is that the sentence itself doesn’t make sense. The trick to solving this one, is not to look at the words, but read them.
And once you’ve figured out that it’s all a play on words you’ll realise the sentence should actually read like this.
“There are 50 cows, and 20 ate chickens. How many didn’t?”
Now that makes more sense.
Making the answer 30 – because of the 50 cows, 20 didn’t eat a chicken.
