Demi Lovato's shocking 911 call has been released
A recording from the 911 call made for Demi Lovato’s drug overdose has been released and it’s so eerily calm, it’s actually shocking.
The singer’s friend called emergency services after reportedly finding her “unconscious in bed” after a big night of partying, according to TMZ.
Instead of being panicked, the caller appears to be extremely calm and asks operators for “no sirens”, presumably to avoid drawing attention to the drama unfolding.
“You’re with the patient now?” the dispatcher inquires before the female caller responds, urging to “get somebody out here” as soon as they could.
But as the operator explained they would soon be hearing the sirens from the ambulance soon, Demi’s pal appears to panic.
“Wait, no sirens please, right?” she can be heard saying.
However the emergency dispatcher insists he has no control over them and that the sirens are needed.
“No no, this is a medical emergency. I don’t have control over that,” he responds. “This is definitely a medical emergency and we need to get there as fast as possible.”
Prior to that tense moment, the call had been bizarrely calm as if the scenario wasn’t something to be too concerned over.
It follows the claims that the ‘Sober’ singer’s pals had actually “saved Demi’s life” after administering the star with Narcan, a nasal spray used to treat drug overdoses, according to US Weekly.
Multiple sources close to the singer also told Yahoo Entertainment they were terrified this day would come.
“I’ve been dreading getting the inevitable call [that she overdosed],” an insider said. “She’s been on a bad path for months and it seemed like this is where it would end up. I’m just so grateful the outcome was this and not worse.”
