Does this explain Kate's face at the state dinner?

Kensington Palace may have put on a lavish bash for the Spanish royals yesterday, but looking at pictures of the event, one person in particular appeared less than impressed with the whole thing.

While she sneakily dodged waiting photographers on the night, the Duchess of Cambridge was caught on camera during the state dinner looking like she would rather be anywhere else.

However when the camera panned to Kate sitting at the table alongside other dignitaries, She looked almost bored with the night.

One reason for Kate’s obvious discomfort could have been that she was dressed in Diana’s “Cambridge Lover's Knot” tiara, which was passed from Queen Elizabeth II from Queen Mary, before being given to Diana as a wedding present, and later to Kate.

While it may have been a showstopping piece, perhaps Kate was having the same issue with it as Diana used to.

Diana was overheard claiming that the tiara was too heavy and would give her headaches whenever she wore it.

Speaking to the Mirror, a body language expert also chimed in, saying Kate perhaps didn’t want to smile while wearing the tiara, as it would be disrespectful to Diana so close to the anniversary of her death.

But when it came to greeting the public, Kate made sure she had a massive smile on her face when she was pictured entering through the gates of the palace.

She waved and smiled at royal supporters, with Prince William sitting alongside her.

We’re not sure what went down between the car ride and the state dinner but it seemed Kate couldn’t wait for the whole thing to be over.
