Elle Macpherson's advice to young models

The days of stick thin models are a thing of the past according to Aussie supermodel Elle Macpherson.

The 52-year-old, who is set to make a guest appearance next week on Australia’s Next Top Model, says that it’s important to her to make that fact clear to tomorrow’s new models.

“Being healthy, getting an education, being well-mannered, listening … that’s what we should be telling these girls - all girls really,” Elle told The Daily Telegraph.

“It’s important to look after your body. Nutrition is number one. You can’t starve yourself; you shouldn’t try to be too thin. Strong is the new sexy. Those are the messages I try to give them.”

You bet that Elle herself follows that advice. After all, her treat of choice is a good old fashioned banana Paddle Pop!

“Australia will always be home to me,” she told the publication. “I love being here and seeing my friends and family. I miss [them] so much.

"I usually race straight to a corner shop to buy a Paddle Pop the moment I’m back. I like the banana ones but they don’t seem to make them anymore."

Erm, they so do, Elle! And now we're all craving one.

Australia's Next Top Model airs Tuesday nights at 7:30pm on FOX8.
