Em Rusciano caught in vicious war of words
Em Rusciano has shared a heartfelt post on her Instagram account, a year after suffering a devastating miscarriage.
The 39-year-old 2Day FM breakfast host says there’s not a day she hasn’t thought of her son, all the while her personality and work ethic has been brought into question this week in a storm of controversy.
“It’s been one year since we lost Ray,” she wrote on her social media account on Tuesday.
“Not a day has gone by that I haven’t thought about him; as the stolen milestones pass us by, I can’t help but think about how old he’d be and what he’d look like,” she continued.
Em went on to admit “these past few days have been tough, I won’t pretend otherwise, I can’t”.
“But I’m ok,” she then said. “Maybe a little cracked, misshapen and fragile in places, but in my own way, ok.”
Hours after her post was shared, Em has been making headlines for other reasons.
On Wednesday morning a source allegedly told The Daily Telegraph that the radio personality’s ‘energy’ was to blame for a mass exodus from the 2Day FM radio station.

“Things are at breaking point, people just cannot work with her [Em’s] energy. There have been… casualties at the hands of Em Rusciano,” the source told the publication.
“The audio producer is now working on another show, the publicist is refusing to work with her and one of the producers has told the company that they are looking for other work.”
Meanwhile local reality star Lisa Oldfield also added her two cents, saying she’s always refused to do interviews with Em’s show because ‘they want to pre-record with a producer’ and then have Em ask the questions in a separate recording.
Em has always been very open on and off the air, and even candidly reflected on the ‘perception’ surrounding her in a recent interview.
Appearing on Wil Anderson’s podcast, Wilosophy, she acknowledged the ups and downs in her moods.
“I’m kind, and then if I get to a point where I think I’m being taken advantage of I just turn,” she said.
“Something just goes in my eyes and I become a different person. So I’m not very good at crescendoing my moods.”
“I know that there is a perception of me and I’m hyper-aware of it and I think I’m in a self-fulfilling prophesy with that idea of me… is that I’m difficult or that I’m a diva or I’m to work with or I’m just hard work in general,” she continued.
Em has been fronting 2Day FM’s breakfast radio show since the beginning of 2017.
After being joined by comedian Harley Breen for one year, she now counts Ed Kavalee and Grant Denyer as her two co-hosts.
