Ed Sheeran scoops top accolade at The Brits

Ed Sheeran has taken home the top gong from The Brits, after being crowned the British industry's Global Success star at the prestigious ceremony.

His accolade was presented to him by music legend Elton John, who praised his 'dear friend' for his contribution to the industry in a pre-recorded clip that was played on the night.

Adorably, the Shape of You singer attended with his rumoured wife, fiancée Cherry Seaborn who cheered him on as he collected his trophy.

It's not his first Brit, with Ed being named the Best British Solo Artist in 2012 and 2015.

This year though, that title was given to grime artist Stormzy, who has taken the UK charts by storm recently.
