After being booted off the show Tuesday night, Jimmy unleashed, calling the x Factor a "game show" and that the producers, not the mentors, were largely responsible for choosing the songs.

Jimmy's rant continued when he appeared on Sunrise the next morning: "There’s definitely times when I’m they’ll suggest something, I’m like maybe, sure this is the option, how about this one?” he told presenters Natalie Barr and David Koch.

“This looks like a very tasty little cupcake in my hand, can we try this one?

“They’ll hear me out, but nine times out of ten you you’ve got to eat that one instead,” he said. Awkward.

His elimination speech also hinted at similar issues when he told contestants to “be true to yourselves”.

Responding to Jimmy's comments on Twitter last night, Guy labelled fellow judge Chris Isaak’s protege "ungrateful". Ouch!

"@JimmyTheButt how incredibly disappointing. After all the time & love people invested into you. Having humility and gratitude is invaluable," Guy tweeted.

Guy then said he spends hours trawling for songs for his artists.

"We don't choose the songs? Sometimes producers make lists as suggestions but 90% of the time I don't even look at them. I spend hours scouring the net for songs and I take pride in our arrangements.

"To undermine ppl who fought for him & only want to help is a huge slap in the face. Ironically, the week he chose the song & arrangement was the week the (sic) got the lowest votes. Happy to get the exposure, get flown around the world, mentored etc only to turn around & make completely false statements," Guy wrote.

Davis told AAP that he had hardly ever sung a cover before coming on the show.

His mentor Chris had to fight producers to allow him to perform Birds Of Tokyo's Lanterns and not a Fall Out Boy tune, which he called a "shocker", during rock week.

"If the mentors really had a say it would be a much better competition," Jimmy said.

The 21-year-old also said he knew he was going home as soon as he was in the bottom two, but he was happy to have made the top 12 and gained national exposure.

"They know I don't have any control over the songs I sing, when they are doing that kind of stuff, it comes back into the mentality that it is a game show," Jimmy said.

Hmmm, wonder if Jimmy will be invited back on the show for a finale sing off? Time will tell.
