Josh Duggar's Brothers Break Their Silence: We Don't Want To Be Like You

John-David and Joseph Duggar have finally broken their silence about their older brother, Josh Duggar following his sordid sex scandal.

In a trailer for the upcoming three-part special Jill & Jessa: Counting On, the brothers break down as they discuss how their brother's actions affected them and their whole family.

"You look at your brother and you want to think the best about him. I always wanted to be like him. But one of the toughest things I ever had to tell my older brother was, ‘I don’t want to be like you anymore,'" says an emotional John-David, 25, who, as the second-oldest Duggar sibling, feels it’s now his duty to step up and be a role model.

"It’s a big load. It’s a big weight upon me now," he admits.

"I’ve got a whole bunch of younger siblings looking up to me, and I’ve got to be an example to them. Because whatever I am, that’s what they want to be. I know that’s what it was for me and Josh."

In May, the 27-year-old admitted to molesting five underage girls when he was a teenager before it was then revealed he was also "unfaithful" to his wife Anna, with whom he had four chidlren.

"I have been the biggest hypocrite ever," he said in a statement at the time. "While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife."

"I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him."

20-year-old Joseph says the family had no idea their brother had been "living such a secret life".

"Whenever somebody you respect the most is willing to get up and proclaim what we believe as Christians, about being true to your wife, you’d never expect that person to be the one that’s involved in it."

"It broke my heart."
