What happened to Tom Cruise's face?

The 53-year-old Mission: Impossible star made a surprise appearance at the British Film Awards to present the winner of Best Film.

But it was his puffy facial appearance - and not The Revenant's win - that had everyone talking.

Fans remarked that Cruise's face looked like it had been "stung by a million bees".

"Is it just me or does Tom Cruise's face ooze with botox injections?" wrote one user on Twitter.

"I see Tom Cruise has gone and bought himself a new face," wrote another.

Other remarked that the Top Gun actor's skin looked "stretched" and "inflated".

While the actor is yet to comment on his bizarre new appearance, his Jerry Maguire co-star, Cuba Gooding Jr., recently revealed Cruise had in fact had work done.

"I don't know what he's had done, but I remember I surprised him at his house one day and he had all of these dots all over his face," he revealed to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live.
