"The show is so real because all these couples are so relateable," therapist Jo Lamble told Yahoo7 Entertainment.

The concept behind the show sees four in crisis couples swap partners to test their real feelings for each other.

By the end of the experiment couples are expected to have a clearer idea of who they would rather spend their life with: their current partner or someone else.

"The participants are being paired with someone who is more like them which gives them a greater understanding of what they are like to live with, " said Lamble.

As for those 'immoral' and 'sinful' claims, Ms Lamble had this to say: "I think it’s a pretention. All of us in committed relationships are tested all the time, at work and at social events. Yes there is temptation here as there is only one bed for the couples to share, but it teaches you how to compromise".

Ms Lamble, along with fellow therapist Peter Charleston, monitored the participants, who also received counseling support for several months after the cameras stopped rolling.
