Bindi Irwin got her driver's licence

Bindi Irwin carried a piece of her dad Steve's memory with her as she took her driving test yesterday.

The 17-year-old Dancing With The Stars champion passed the practical component of her test in the rural Queensland town of St. George.

And, making sure her dad was there for the monumental occasaion, Bindi chose to drive his old ute for the test.

Bindi shared the photo on her Instagram with this caption: Thank you so much to Constable Joshua Little and Queensland Police for testing me today and giving me my license.

It was wonderful to take my test in St George and pass the first time and in my Dad's giant old ute!

Bindi said she is planning a pretty sedate party for her 18th birthday in July, telling The Courier-Mail: "I might even have two cups of tea if I’m feeling really wild."
