The Grammy-winning rocker, who is currently touring Down Under, sat down with Kochie on Sunrise to chat about gay marriage, diversity and equality before touching on this week’s Brussels attacks.
“To understand why a person would strap a bomb to themselves and blow themselves up you have to understand where they came from to begin with,” she explained.
“We have got to get away from 'us and them' and understand we are all in this together especially now in this world where we can be anywhere in a moment form here to there.”
Melissa plays in Brisbane on Saturday night before heading to Melbourne and Perth next week.
