You have to see Daisy Ridley's emotional Star Wars audition tape

There's no doubt that one of our favourite parts of Star Wars: The Force Awakens was new heroine, Rey, played by newcomer Daisy Ridley.

And now we have her original audition tape to back up just how kick a** she is in real life.

Official Star Wars social sites have released a short clip from a documentary included as part of the film's DVD release, discussing the creation of Rey's character and how the 23-year-old came to be involved in one of the biggest film franchises in history.

The documentary also features a snippet of the actress's original audition tape, where director J.J. Abrams reveals he knew she was special from the moment he first saw her.

Her emotional performance sees her crying on cue, and completely nailing the part.
