Disney star arrested for drink driving in LA

Debby Ryan, known for her lead role in the Disney Channel original series Jessie, reportedly failed a sobriety test after she crashed into another car while driving in Los Angeles.

The star was arrested after failing a breathalyser test following the incident.

A source told the NY Daily News that the star "did cooperate" during the arrest.

According to TMZ, Ryan registered a .11 blood alcohol content during her sobriety test, which was over the legal US limit of 0.08.

Following her arrest, the star released a statement on her personal Twitter account, apologising for disappointing her fans.

"Over the last few days I have had the chance to think about my actions, and I wish I had used better judgement," she wrote.

"I recognise that I am a role model and have always worked hard to set a good example for my millions of fans. I am so sorry to disappoint everyone."
