Ex-Bachelor Blake Garvey splits from Louise Pillidge

After shockingly dumping Bachelor winner - and new fiancé - Sam Frost for Louise Pillidge after the show went to air, Blake Garvey is a single man again.

After 18 months of dating, the pair have called time on their relationship, admitting they have been undergoing couples counselling in a bid to save their romance.

"We were walking on eggshells around each other, always trying to say the right thing..." 33-year-old Garvey told New Idea.

"It was suffocating."

The pair are still said to be living together in Perth, and have maintained a united front on their respective social media accounts.

Louise told New Idea that it was Blake's decision to end their romance, admitting she has struggled for months to come to terms with "the fact she was not his first choice".

Despite proposing to Sam Frost on the second season of The Bachelor Australia, Blake changed his mind, admitting his heart lay with Pillidge, who placed third in the battle for his love.

Garvey wrote Louise a love letter detailing his feelings for her, and after breaking things off with Frost, the pair retreated to Thailand to escape the press.

The couple are arguably the least successful pair from the show's short Aussie history: Tim and Anna from season one are still going strong, while most recent couple Sam Wood and Snezana Markoski are engaged and busy planning their upcoming wedding.

Australia's first Bachelorette, Sam Frost, has also moved on from Garvey, finding love with Sasha Mielczarek.
