Alexis Bledel welcomes baby boy

The world has just become a much more genetically blessed place now that Gilmore Girls star Alexis Bledel and her hubby Vincent Kartheiser have welcomed their first baby.

Alexis gave birth to a baby boy after a very hush-hush pregnancy.

The actress and her partner married in 2014 after they met on the set of Mad Men.

Scott Patterson, who will star in the Netflix version of Gilmore Girls, spilled to Glamour magazine about Alexis being a first-time mum.

"It was great to see her. She's really blossomed as a woman and now she's a proud new mother and married and happy," he said.

"We're comparing notes because my son is about a year and a half older than her young son. I'm showing her photos and videos and what to expect. We're just really enjoying each other's company."
