In an interview for KISS FM with Meshl Laurie for the Mamamia Women’s Network, the shock jock revealed he’d not been dealing with his loss.

“I’m not saying it’s depression or anything, but I think about him everyday,” the 44-year-old said.

“We didn’t have a great relationship, and that’s probably my fault. And some days it makes me feel ill. I do suffer migraines and I probably put myself into some stupid emotional state where I start projectile vomiting for eight-hours and then it’s very hard to come in [to work] vomit, joke and laugh.”

"I probably need to get that sorted out by speaking to someone, because it is impacting on my daily life,” he added.

“Some days I just feel like ill and I miss him, and I don’t want to go into work and laugh.”

Sandilands announced his dad Peter had died in March, before he was able to visit him after coming back from a trip.

This week, the star defended the station’s decision to use replays on the air because he wasn't at work.

“I wasn’t here yesterday and we had to do some replays,” he told news.com.au at the time.

“But the truth is I think I’m still finding it hard to deal with the death of my dad.

“I just wanted to keep it private but I’ve got to put it out there now ’cause I don’t want all the doom and gloom and everyone worried and people making up stories.”
