Carrie Bickmore reveals she's never watched The Simpsons

Bickmore cowered in embarrassment when her co-panellist Peter Helliar, told The Simpsons voice actor and show guest Harry Shearer she'd never seen a full episode, to gasps and groans in the audience.

"I find this, if nothing else, ingratitude," Shearer joked on Monday night's show.

Viewers took to Twitter to express their shock.

"Wait, Carrie Bickmore has never seen an episode of The Simpsons.... for shame," tweeted Mike Elliott.

"SORRY WHAT THE HELL @BickmoreCarrie HAS NEVER SEEN AN EPISODE OF THE SIMPSONS?! WHAT?!" wrote Jackson Langford.

"Carrie Bickmore says she's never watched a whole episode of The Simpsons. Who allows her to be employed on television?" wrote Ben Pobjie.

Bickmore said she'd only seen bits of the iconic American animated sitcom and asked Shearer which episode she should watch to give her a perfect introduction.

Shearer replied the Mr Burns runs for governor and three-eyed fish episode.

In the episode, Mr Burns runs for governor in order to stop the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant being shut down after Bart catches a three-eyed fish in a river downstream.

Shearer is Down Under to perform his cabaret show, This Infernal Racket, with his musician wife Judith Owen.
