In a statement pinned to their front door, Kevin's parents expressed their "deepest sympathy" for Christina's loss.

The note reads: "Deepest sorrow for lost [sic] to the family, friends and fans of the very talented, loving Christina Grimmie. No other comments."

Orlando Police say they believe Kevin drove 160km from his hometown of St Petersburg, Florida, with the sole intention of killing the 22-year-old singer.

"That would be speculation, but that's what it's looking like," Orlando Police Chief John Mina said.

"There's no indication that he knew her, we're looking into that to try and find a motive for the crime."

Christina's brother, Marcus, has also spoken out on her murder saying he "doesn't know how he will live without her".

"She was my baby sister. She loved the Lord and her family and was always there for me and I honestly don't know what I’ll do without her," Marcus wrote on Facebook.

"The support has been crazy and I do feel a peace. I just don't have any words. I love you all."

It's been reported that Marcus tackled Kevin after his sister's shooting.
