Ellen DeGeneres addresses lesbian couple in Finding Dory

Ellen DeGeneres has addresses rumours that Disney has featured their first LGBT couple in Finding Dory.

In the latest trailer, many assumed Disney Pixar had portrayed a lesbian couple, who appear to be parents to a baby.

In an interview with the Associated Press, DeGeneres said, “I don’t mind the question and I don’t know if it’s true or not, or if she has a bad short haircut. Who knows if she is a lesbian.”

The chat show host also joked that there will be a transgender character in the Finding Nemo spin-off, with a “stingray that’s becoming a sting-Rhonda.”

“It’s darker and lighter,” she added. “It’s more complex and layered and there’s more messaging in it. It’s still obviously a kid film.

“I think adults will be equally if not more drawn to this film.”
