The man who shot and killed The Voice singer Christina Grimmie was so obsessed with the star that he underwent plastic surgery in the hopes of winning her love.

According to TMZ, Kevin Loibi's workmates claim he had hair transplants, Lasik eye surgery and even turned vegan in a bid to lose weight.

Kevin's Best Buy co-workers say he went to one of Christina's shows in March and claimed he met the singer and even played online games with the singer.

But a source close to Christina says the 22-year-old never had any contact with Kevin, as she was actually in a relationship that was never made public.

Photographs with a mystery man on Instagram are believed to be of her with her boyfriend.

In a final, haunting twist, Kevin's co-workers say he thought he was going to marry the star, but when he realised he was never going to win her over, he changed his plan and decided to kill her.
