Jeep that killed Anton Yelchin was recalled to be fixed
More details have emerged surrounding Star Trek star Anton Yelchin’s horrific death after his 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee rolled into him this weekend.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, car manufacturing giant Fiat Chrysler recalled their 2014 and 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokees for review, after its unconventional gear shifter led to several documented rollaway incidents.

Fiat Chrysler said in a recall notice that the shifter confusion had led to 41 injuries.
Yelchin, 27, died when his SUV, a Jeep 2015 Grand Cherokee, was left in neutral and reportedly rolled down his driveway when he was outside of it, crushing him into a mailbox.
The actor’s body was found pinned between a car and a gate at a home in Studio City, California. No cause of death has been declared yet while the coroner completes the autopsy. However, preliminary results were that he had head and chest injuries.
The medical examiner also said that it's believed the vehicle was not properly parked before Yelchin, who appeared in the Star Trek films and Terminator Salvation, walked to the rear end of his vehicle and that the vehicle then rolled and pinned him between the gate.
Born in Saint Petersburg, Russia, Yelchin and his family moved to the United States in 1989. His parents were celebrated Russian ice skaters Irina (ne Korina) and Viktor Yelchin.
Yelchin will appear this summer in the third entry in the rebooted Star Trek film, Star Trek Beyond.
