Blake Lively has finally broken her silence over her controversial "Oakland booty" comment.

"It’s something I was proud of. I never meant to offend anyone," she said on Sway radio.

"It’s just about celebrating women’s bodies, and that’s what I was doing, and I would never want to hurt anyone’s feelings or upset anyone."

She then added: "It’s nice to have a nice curve and not look like you’re starving to death" - all but undoing her previous statement about "celebrating women's bodies".

We get that she wasn't trying to be offensive, but was the skinny shaming really necessary?

Earlier in the year at Cannes Film Festival, the actress shared a photo of herself and captioned it: "L.A. face with an Oakland booty."

Blake was accused of racism after she shared the photo as her followers slammed her for being “white and privileged”.

Speaking to the Daily News in May, Sir Mix-a-Lot defended Blake's use of his lyrics.

"I don’t think she’d wear that dress if she thought that booty is horrible - and to me, it ain’t horrible. I don’t get it at all. She’s saying she’s proud of her butt. I’m glad she embraced the look, because that’s what I wanted (with the song)," he said.
