Earlier this year Kerri-Anne gave a revealing interview to Women's Weekly in which she relived the moment the doctors removed John resuscitation tube.

"It was the most profound sense of relief I have ever felt," she said.

"'That was the moment when I felt he'd really come back to me".

Just months ago Kerri-Anne Kennerley’s life was turned upside down after John broke his neck after a fall at Coffs Harbour golf course.

"I woke up thinking what a shocking nightmare that was ... only that it wasn't a nightmare ... it's real,” she said in an interview on Sunday Night.

Although Kerri-Anne and John face a nine month wait before doctors can fully assess the damage done to his spine, the pair remain hopeful.

John is able to talk, eat solids, and has also regained movement in his legs.
