Judge Judy admits she's a massive cheapskate

She might be one of the highest earning personalities on TV, but that doesn't mean Judge Judy is careless when it comes to money.

The tough talking legal eagle has just extended her contract until 2020 and is reportedly worth a staggering $300 million.

But friends close to the 73-year-old have told Closer that Judy still buys "dime store cosmetics, drives a nondescript SUV and above all else, relishes time she spends with her five children and 13 grandchildren."

The friend added: "Judy has always had feet firmly planted on the ground. When it comes to everyday things, Judy hates to overpay."

A store assistant at US retailer Saks Fifth Avenue confirmed Judy's thrifty ways, saying: "She’s definitely not a shopaholic. "There are plenty of instances where she comes in just to browse but doesn’t make a purchase."

According to the publication, Judy credits her parents with implanting a "good moral compass" and "work ethic" in her.
