1. She’s controlling our minds with her music

Her songs are catchy, but according to the Huffington Post, the pop princess is using a special type of repetition called progressio, which is designed to stick in your head!

2. She has an evil twin in Japan who loves burgers

Taylor Swift apparently has a secret twin who lives in Japan and makes adverts for McDonalds Tomato Burger. The internet went into a melt down when this ad of a Taylor look-a-like in a red wig and stripey swimsuit emerged last year!

3. Tay is in the illuminati

Conspiracy theorists have noticed that Taylor seems to be obsessed with the number 13 – a significant number to the cult. She was born on Friday the 13th of December, 1989 and would reportedly write the number on her hand during live performances. Her first album featured 13 tracks and even her Twitter handle has the number in it. Some out-there theorists also believe Taylor was bred to join the 13 bloodlines of the Illuminati!

4. Taylor Swift and Kanye West made a secret publicity pact

As crazy as it sounds, some fans believe Taylor has a publicity pact with her nemesis Kanye west. Apparently their first infamous run-in at the MTV VMAs was a PR stunt to boost their careers. And because they are both reportedly in the Illuminati, Kanye embarrassed her deliberately – because all incoming Illu-members have to be embarrassed in front of their peers as initiation. WTF?!

5. Taylor is a member of the website that can’t be named (4Chan)

This website is known for promoting suicides, kidnappings and leaking celebrity naked photos. Reddit users believe Tay posted a series of posts and photos on the controversial site. The evidence? She revealed her cat was called Meredith! (Not really that convincing is it?)

6. Taylor Swift was replaced by Satanist Zeena LaVey

YouTube user Amto pointed out that Taylor and Berlin-based American artist Zeena Schreck, a musician, author and the spiritual leader of the Satanist Liberation Movement, which she founded in 2002, look spookily similar. Zeena may be 52 right now, but we gotta admit she looked creepily like Tay Tay when she was younger!

7. Taylor Swift's legs were insured for $40 million

Everyone thought Taylor insured her legs for $40 million. When Taylor’s cat Meredith scratched her leg, the singer showed she had a sense of humour by posting a picture of the injury to Instagram captioning it, "GREAT WORK MEREDITH. I WAS JUST TRYING TO LOVE YOU AND NOW YOU OWE ME 40 MILLION DOLLARS.”

8. Taylor Swift doesn't have a belly button

For ages Tay Tay didn’t show her belly button, leaving many people to believe she didn’t have one! Extremist then claimed she wasn't human, but an alien! Taylor cleared up the rumours by telling BBC Radio 1 the reason she doesn't show it is simply because of the way she dresses. "When you start showing your belly button, then you're really committing to the midriff thing," she said. "I only partially commit to the midriff thing—you're only seeing lower rib cage."

9. She has a secret cocaine addiction

A video posted to Gawker titled ‘Taylor Swift Doing Coke?’ from the MTV Video Music Awards made the rounds last year. In the clip, Tay can be seen walking through a corridor with her assistants, before pausing and then being shielded as she puts something near her nose. Taylor afterwards denied she was taking cocaine but was merely blowing her nose!

10. Taylor is really a Chinese spy

For whatever reason, a reader from San Antonio wrote Stars and Stripes on The Rumor Doctor alleging that Swift is a “mole from north eastern China,” adding that stars should be “screened to check their uterus and equipment for their bugging kits.” The Rumor Doctor reached out to Paula Erickson, Swift’s publicist, for comment. Erickson replied that Swift would not be offering any comment. “I would appreciate it if you would refrain from running this piece,” Erickson replied via email. “I think it is beyond obvious that Taylor is NOT a Chinese mole, and to even attempt to imply otherwise is defamatory. This is not something we need to dignify with a response.”
