A timeline of the tumultuous Kanye West vs Taylor Swift feud

As the Internet erupts with many many T-Swift versus Kimye battles we’re finding it hard to keep up with what’s being said and with who’s throwing shade where.

Also we’re getting a bit hazy on the past details about why this is happening. Are you with us? Good, lets break it down then, together, from the beginning.

It sort of starts back when Swifty was 12, and she bought her first album, which was Kanye’s debut, The College Dropout. Apparently Taylor just loved it and was a huge fan from then.

Fast-forward to the 2009 MTV VMA’s and the Yeezy-Swift relationship takes a turn.

Taylor accepts her Best Female Video Award, and during her (attempt) at a thank you speech Kanye snatches the mic off Tay Tay. It’s awkward, it’s unpleasant, it’s a whole lot of cringe-on-stage.

Beyoncé comes to Taylor’s defense and Kanye goes on an apology spree.

In 2013, during an interview with The New York Times Kanye says that he would not be giving any sort of, “full-on, flat apology for anything.”

He explains that his My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was a “backhanded apology”.

Then in 2015, Kanye and Taylor make headlines at the Grammys because they are seen smiling and chatting as though they are friends.

At the VMA’s that same year Kanye accepts the Video Vanguard Award from T-Swift with an onstage hug/BFF moment. Taylor gives lots of words of praise for the rapper on stage.

Taylor is then seen awkwardly looped arm-in-arm with Kim Kardashian, in the audience, while Yeezy accepts his award.

And that brings us to February 2016. To Kanye’s song Famous and ‘that’ lyric about T-Swizzle.

He raps, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made that b*tch famous.”

Taylor takes a swipe at Kanye during her 2016 Grammys speech about people trying to undercut her success.

Then Yeezy debuts his Famous video with nude celebrities – including himself – in a bed together (Swift is among those in the image). Many celebrities are unhappy about what Kanye has done.

THEN Kim steps in and stands up for her hubby, saying that Taylor approved his lyric about her in his song. The reality star says that Taylor spoke to Kanye on the phone about it.

Taylor denies everything.

Kim subtly uploads the conversation between Tay-Tay and Yeezy to snapchat – a conversation that was secretly recorded on the phone. Lots more snapchats continue to be released.
