1. Splendour in the Grass
Splendour in the Grass is a three day camping event held over winter and is Australia's answer to Glastonbury . The indie festival has boasted an impressive range of artists since it began, including The Strokes, Florence and the Machine, Coldplay and Mark Ronson.

2. Harbourlife
If you're all about the Sydney scene, this is THE festival to head to. Set against the stunning backdrop of Sydney Harbour, the intimate event has a capacity of just 5000 so tix are usually snapped up within days! If you love dance music, it's a must-do.

3. Groovin the Moo
This annual music fest is the only one that goes to regional areas in Oz so gives offers the chance for local communities to get amongst it. With a pretty varied range of music - you can expect to see anyone from Alison Wonderland to Boy And Bear - it's one for anyone.
When: April/May

4. Lost Paradise
Like Neverland for adults, these festival-goers don whimsical costumes and roam around the lush forest where the festival is based. Think music by Angus and Julia Stone, Jamie XX and Four Tet. Definitely one for the hippies.

5. Strawberry Fields
A three-day festival that fuses art, sound and creativity. The event celebrates local and international electronic music and features trippy art installations that will tickle your senses.
When: November
Where: 2-3 hours out of Melbourne

6. Listen Out
This festival has maximum chill out vibes and is all about the sweet, sweet music. It claims to be "Australia’s intelligent dance music event" and delivers on its promise with consistently incredible lineups. Think RUFUS and A$AP Ferg, and in previous years Childish Gambino, Flume and Chet Faker.

7. Falls Festival
This fest is more low key than Splendour - the big party is saved for New Year's Eve. And what better to ring in the new year than spending it at a festival listening to your favourite artists?

8. Secret Garden
This festival is a great excuse to dress up and run amuck as an adult. The farm gets transformed into a magic fairytale-like forest where anything goes. Previous artists in the lineup include Bad//Dreems, Hiatus Kaiyote, Dorsal Fins, Montaigne, and Sampa The Great.

9. Southbound
This three day music and camping fest is THE FESTIVAL of the year for those on the West coast of Australia. And the silent disco is a must-do.

10. Blues and Roots
The Blues and Roots festival is something that must be experienced at least once in a lifestime. It boasts a mix of well-established blues and roots artists as well as up-and-coming new talent. Anyone and everyone is welcome.
