What Mariah Carey and “regular, normal” James Packer bond over

Mariah Carey is about to marry billionaire James Packer, but it’s not the path she thought her life would take.

The 46-year-old has opened up about how she never thought she’d be divorced with kids or be getting married for a third time.

Mariah spoke to Complex in a candid interview about how her life took an unexpected turn and what her and James Packer bonded over when they dated.

The mother-of-two admitted she never thought she’d have kids.

“But I never thought I would have babies with someone and then get divorced,” she told the publication.

The famous singer is a mum to five-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe. Their father is Nick Cannon, Mariah’s ex-husband.

“But life happens,” she explains.

Mariah is now engaged to billionaire James Packer and preparing for her third wedding. The couple got engaged in January this year after less than 12 months of dating.

She admits she wished it didn’t happen this way for her children, but is happy with her new beau.

It was her friend Brett Ratner who introduced her to, “a regular and normal person,” Mariah tells Complex.

The famous singer says the couple bonded over a “shared sense of humour.”

Their shared love for fun and frivolity was showcased in a video of a boozy night on a dance floor in Capri. The pair were filmed letting their hair down at Vv Nightclub – grinding and sunnies were involved.

Mariah says the wedding is not a ‘merger’ and doesn’t reveal much more about the relationship because there’s a lot she has to keep private.

She does say that they don’t want the wedding to be a big thing, but admits it has to be “in reality.”

James is also a huge fan of her music.
