In an interview with TheFix, Kerri-Anne revealed John, 75, is currently having rehab.

"He's working really hard at rehab, at Prince of Wales hospital," the 62-year-old said.

"He'll be there till the end of the year. He came home for an hour a couple of weeks ago with the occupational therapists who come into your home and advise you on how to make your home wheelchair and disabled friendly.

"[The progress] is very slow. But he's with us and I'm grateful for that. And the people at Prince of Wales are just fabulous."

Kerri-Anne says she’s been finding comfort in their garden throughout this whole ordeal.

"Re-jigging things in my own back garden has been quite gratifying," she added.

"It gives you this feeling of fulfilment. I've just bought a whole bunch of fairy lights that I'm going to put out – I've got two, three trees in the back and I'm going to fill them with fairy lights so I can enjoy them at night as well."

Earlier this month KAK posted a happy snap to her Instagram account with a caption that said she would be taking her husband home.

“A quick trip back home to test out ramps and all that fun. Cannot wait to have John home again, only a couple more months to go,” she wrote.

She's has got her home ready for hubby’s return. Access ramps have been installed in the entrance of their house.

John’s accident happened while the couple were in Coffs Harbour. They had been playing golf and were having a photo with fans before John slipped off a balcony and fell head first to the ground.

He has been in intensive care at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney since. Kerri-Anne admitted on Seven’s Sunday Night that she has accepted her husband may never fully recover.

The distraught wife broke down during her interview when talking about the man she’s been married to for 32 years.

“My life, as I knew it, is over,” she said in April. “That was history. This is now a new life. Because he is my priority.”

John can now breathe on his own after having a tube recently removed – a massive step toward recovery.
