Eva talked about how heart-wrenching it was to lose her brother.

“Losing my brother brought our family closer…to just see everybody be there for one another and show up, I feel so lucky to have them,” she told Latina Magazine.

Eva also spoke about how “beautiful” it was giving birth to her (now three-month-old) daughter with partner Ryan Gosling.

“We had a funeral service for [Carlos] and that same week I had a baby. So it was really, really intense and obviously beyond heartbreaking, but also kind of beautiful,” she told the publication.

The 42-year-old admitted that she hasn’t really processed it entirely yet.

Eva and Ryan have two daughters now, Amada and her sibling, 22-month-old Esmeralda Amada. Amada was named after Eva’s grandmother.

“It was an emotional time with the passing of my brother…we thought how beautiful to go with what made us emotional and with what felt like her. When we looked at her, we thought, ‘Aww, Amadita,” Eva told Latina Magazine.

The Hollywood couple welcomed their second daughter, very secretly, in April this year.

Ryan told Good Morning America that he loves being surrounded by three females.

“It’s heaven. It’s like walking through a field of flowers every day. I live with angels,” he said on the show.

The couple have been together since September 2011.
