Matthew McConaughey awkward response about Charlize Theron
Matthew McConaughey is known for many things and waffling on during interviews is one of them. But this time things got awkward.
The Magic Mike actor and Charlize Theron sat down with Yahoo Movies to talk about their role in the upcoming animated feature, Kubo and the Two Strings. Things were going well until they were asked "what their favourite roles were for each other".

Charlize was quick to answer with Matthew's Academy Award winning role, Dallas Buyers Buyers Club saying: "I was absolutely blown away. As an actor you watch that, and I like a lot of your movies, but that was on such a different level."
Pretty high praise right? And you'd think Matthew could come up with a similar complimentary response for his peer, assuming he has seen at least ONE of her movies?
"Look at her, know what I mean? So seamlessly and easily to go and hang her hat on the humanity of whatever the character is going to be without any reverence of... Of.... I don't know, just take a photograph" Matthew said, turning to an increasingly unimpressed-looking Charlize.
So it seemed like he was more trying to reference her entire body of work, instead of a specific role, however he only managed to dig the hole deeper.
"The clarity in which she does that from the get go and all the way through is a complete commitment and I applaud it. She's a brilliant actress."
Charlize, having established Matthew has seen none of her films, could only response with a sassy eyeroll and a "mhm" underneath her breath. Yikes.
Classic McConaughey strikes again.
