Blake Lively discovered the world's best coffee in Australia…here's where to find it

Blake Lively dons a bikini for most of the Aussie flick The Shallows, but that didn’t stop her from treating herself between shoots.

And when she does, the former Gossip Girl star has a thing for cronuts and good coffee. Yep, she’s just like us.

In a new interview with NOVA FM’s Smallzy’s Surgery, the actress revealed all the Gold Coast cafes and restaurants she couldn’t get enough of during filming of the movie while Down Under.

“Most of my down time was spent at this amazing restaurant called Social, “ she said. “Which is like a fancy, treat yourself, night-out restaurant that was amazing. That’s right on Broadbeach.”

The 28-year-old also hit up what she calls a “yummy little coffee shop” called No Name Lane.

“It was kind of just like going to little haunts like that,” she said. “Getting their yummy cold brew.”

“I found that coffee at No Name Lane to be the best coffee I’ve ever had in my life. I have to say it, on the record.

“The cappuccinos were amazing but the cold brew, oh my gosh! I would ask them for vats of it and they would drip it for eight hours overnight. And then they have a special milk called capital milk – it’s made just for cappuccinos. We don’t have that in the states.”

But when Blake had a craving for some pastry after a long shoot day on Lord Howe Island, she headed to Skull and Bones Expresso Boutique at Mermaid Beach.

“They make a croissant donut – a cronut – but like an ice cream sandwich cronut…an ice cream with a coffee, come on.”

Sure, Blake was on a strict diet to keep her looking fit for the role, but the actress wasn’t going to miss out on a cheat meal or three.

“When I was doing this movie, the one thing I wasn’t allowed to eat was gluten,” she said “No gluten and no soy. But every now and then I would have to go have a cheat meal.

“You know, I don’t normally eat like that – I eat like a normal person – but for this movie I had to be in a bikini for half of it and I had to be strong and stand up to the elements and the waves, and all that athleticism. So it was really like working out really hard and eating well, but you still have splurges.”

We hear you, Blake!

The Shallows hits Australian cinemas on August 18, 2016. Hear the full interview with Blake Lively at 7pm Monday night on NOVA's Smallzy’s Surgery.
