EXCLUSIVE: The Bachelor's Keira: ‘I don’t give a f***'

She’s had her share of cocktail party showdowns during this season of The Bachelor.

But it turns out the series would have been a lot less entertaining if Keira Maguire would have stuck to her original strategy to lay off the booze.

Speaking with Be, the 27-year-old Brisbane native revealed her original game plan for the reality TV series.

“Obviously they have a certain amount that you can drink [at the cocktail parties],” she said of the boozy gatherings on the show. “But when you’ve had a big day of hair and makeup and stuff, and then you get to the cocktail party – but you haven’t had time to have dinner – then you drink champagne. It just goes straight to your head.”

She added: “We had control over what we drink, but personally I was like, ‘I don’t give a f***, I’m gonna drink what I want.’ I was so drunk so many times.

“But before I went into the house I was like, ‘I’m not going to drink anything at the cocktail party…I’m gonna be strategic’,” she said with a laugh. “That all went out the window. It didn’t end up that way.”

Keira, who says she's happy remaining single for the time being, also confessed that she’s never used Tinder...and absolutely never will.

“I’ve never had Tinder,” she revealed. “I don’t believe in those kinds of apps – it’s not for me. But the funny thing is, I went on a dating show, so, go figure. [But] Tinder’s not my thing.

“I find it degrading, just the way guys talk about it. It concerns me because I’m very protective - I’m all about women and empowering women – so I just don’t think that app is good. If you wanna have fun, that’s fine, but not if you want a relationship.”

The reality star, whose time on the show was overshadowed at times by reports of her cult upbringing and plastic surgery rumours, said that dealing with those things only made her stronger.

“It was very confronting to me,” she said. “Because it’s not really relevant to who I am, but at the same time, it just makes me stronger.”

Keira, who was told by Richie that they didn't have a future together during last night's episode of The Bachelor, said there was more to that date than we saw onscreen.

“Go back and replay that and look at my face,” she said of her final date with Richie. “I’m like, ‘Why are you saying that?’

“I literally said to him,” Do you even like me? It’s fine [if you don’t] Are you doing that for the camera?’ But anyway.”

As for why that date got so awkward so quickly, Keira explained that they had unfinished business from the kangaroo debacle.

She explained: “We hadn’t really spoken about the kangaroo date. So going into the date I was a little bit annoyed.

“The night before I got a little frustrated about what was going on – I was a little upset – and didn’t want to be there.”

What’s more, Richie hates yoga, so that was confusing enough that he chose that for their first one-on-one date.

“He took me to yoga and he’d actually mentioned that he hated yoga,” she said. “I just thought, ‘Why would you take me somewhere you hate?’ It just didn’t make sense to me. I can do yoga in my backyard.

“Like, where’s my yacht? Where’s my private jet? I’d rather go bungee jumping, you know.”

The Sydney-based account manager said that while Richie is a nice guy, it would have never worked out between them anyway.

“He was the same genuine guy,” she said of how her expectations of Richie from The Bachelorette matched the reality. “[But] He’s not as strong as me, so I just feel that when a woman is stronger than a man, it’s never gonna work.”

As for her ideal guy. Keira is open to: "Someone who is confident, ambitious, I don’t mind a good jawline – just someone I can really bounce off and someone I can laugh with.”

Form an orderly queue, Gents.

The Bachelor continues Wednesday at 7:30pm on Network Ten.
