Roxy Jacenko talks conjugal visits with jailed husband

Roxy Jacenko's world was shaken to its core when husband Oliver Curtis was jailed for insider trading in June.

And now the 36-year-old has opened up about how they're both coping as he serves his two-year sentence at Parklea Correctional Centre, discussing everything from conjugal visits through to what they've told the kids.

Appearing on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, one cheeky caller couldn't resist asking whether or not they're allowed sexy alone time.

"No, I don’t know, to be honest, it's not something that’s crossed my mind," said the mother-of-two, who is battling breast cancer. "Worrying about stuff like that is not high on my agenda right now. My agenda is to get better."

Shock jock Kyle continued to push, asking whether they'd had sex on the morning Oliver was sentenced.

"Can you not?" Roxy hit back. "No, no and no. Enough now!"

She did, however, confirm that her hubby has found his feet and landed himself a job as an administrative clerk.

"Oliver has a job, he works... and does a lot of gym," she told the hosts.

"He has [made friends] and settled in as well as he can. He's got a great cell mate. He's getting on with things. He likes his job, it's good to have a job."

The Sweaty Betty PR founder - who was diagnosed with cancer just three weeks after Oliver was jailed - confirmed she's been to see him twice, but described the jail as 'not a nice place.'

"It's sad. It's not somewhere where you'd choose to be," she added.

In a bid to make it as manageable as possible, she's been sending him $100 a week to spend, with the next thing on his wish list being a doona because 'it's cold.'

As far as their children Pixie, five, and Hunter, two, go, she revealed she's told them their dad is simply working away in China.

"It's not unusual for them, Oli spent a lot of time in China so it’s the norm," she said, admitting she made a 'rookie error' by putting Pixie on the phone to her dad a month ago.

"It was the worst thing. He phoned on a Saturday she cried for the whole day after. Her first words were: 'When are you coming home?'" she said.

'The older you are the worst separation is. I put her on the phone on her birthday and I regretted it. I've said I don't want to speak when I'm around the children."

Last night she bravely shared her breast cancer journey with 60 Minutes, allowing cameras to film as she underwent the removal of her tumour.

And the PR guru told Kyle and Jackie O that while the cancer was removed during surgery, she still faces a grueling course of treatment.

"I had the operation two weeks ago in Melbourne, it was very successful, they removed the cancer, I've now got a small cut.

"And on Wednesday, I'll see the oncologist and start radiation for five weeks every day."

Asked what the prognosis is, Roxy explained she's planning to 'take it as it comes', and praised Australia for having "the best of the best of healthcare."

Meanwhile, the Sweaty Betty founder admitted she believes stress contributed to the development of the disease.

"I have had aggravation in my life, and while there's no proof medically that stress and aggravation contribute to cancer, there's no doubt in my mind that it’s added to it," she said.

Recalling how she discovered the lump while trying to scrub her fake tan off in the shower, Roxy said she knew pretty much straight away that it was cancer.

"So much sh*t has gone wrong that I was like, well I probably do [have cancer]," she said. "I knew. When the test results came back, I wasn’t like a blithering mess, I knew, I was prepared for it."

But she's determined to stay strong for her kids.

"I suppose I am in a million pieces inside but I have a duty to keep myself together cos I don’t want my kids to be anymore affected than they need to be," she added.

The 36-year-old also took the opportunity to hit back at haters who questioned the timing of her diagnosis.

"It was probably two reasons that I did 60 Minutes - the first was that the whole amount went to three different charities for cancer, the second was that I thought eff you. No normal person could wake up and think, 'she’s just saying this to help her husband.'

"Cancer is something that kills people, to do that you’d have to be sick. It’s heartwarming to see followers that I don’t know responding on my behalf. If someones in strife your supposed to reach out and help. There's a major issue with tall poppy in Australia."
