Naya Rivera had an abortion while on ‘Glee’

Glee star Naya River is about to release a VERY juicy memoir on her life.

In the 29-year-old's book, Sorry Not Sorry, she opens up about her bout with anorexia as a teen and terminating a pregnancy while starring on Glee.

Naya says she had an abortion in 2010 after she became pregnant to her then-boyfriend (now husband) Ryan Dorsey. The split up and Naya went on to date Big Sean before she got back together with Ryan.

She reveals that she underwent the procedure during a day off from filming Glee (Naya played cheerleader Santana Lopez on the show).

"It was very scary to open up about everything," she said.

"It’s not something a lot of people talk about, but I think they should. I know some people might read it and say, ‘What the Hell?’ But I hope someone out there gets something out of it."

The mother-of-one went on to wed Ryan, who is now father to her 11-month-year-old son, Josey.

Naya also writes about how she developed an eating disorder in her teens.

"By the time I was a sophomore, I started feeling that what had begun as a game had maybe gone too far. I just avoided food at all costs," she says.

"If my mum had packed a lunch for me, I’d either trash it or find some excuse to give it away."

The actress says she didn't realise her battle with anorexia was so severe until she wrote the memoir.

"I was so young and it just seemed to be the norm. I had no way of knowing if I was going through it worse. I was juggling my feelings and it makes me sad that there are girls still going through that 15 years after I went through it."

Sorry Not Sorry is out from September 13.
