Kyle Sandilands found out about sex in the most TMI way

He's no stranger to an overshare, but Kyle Sandilands has outdone himself with this latest tale about how he learned about the birds and the bees.

The shock jock decided to off-load on today's Kyle and Jackie O Show, sharing that his dad delivered a life lesson in a surprisingly basic way.

"My dad brought out a glass of water and said 'This here is your mother's vagina'," revealed Kyle on his KIIS FM show.

"He put the glass of water down and pulled out a tampon, and said, 'This is a tampon'. [He] put the tampon in the glass of water, it absorbed the water."

Clearly in awe, the 45-year-old admits he thought his dad had just done a 'magic trick', and "that was the end of the birds and the bees," he says.

Sadly, his father passed away from liver and bowel cancer in March, and Kyle was forced to defend himself after taking time off to grieve.

“I know we had to do some replays but I’m sick and tired of reading things in the newspaper that are outright lies,” he said at the time.

“Over the past few weeks I’ve have had a couple of days off. I haven’t been feeling that well and it goes on and off. The truth is, I’m still finding it hard to deal with the death of my dad."

He continued: “I wanted to keep it private but I’ve got to put it out there now because I don’t want all the doom and gloom and everyone worried, and people making up stories and speculating.

“It’s tough when you read things online. Online writers accusing us of tricking listeners. I got a bit annoyed and I thought, ‘Hang on, don’t be ashamed for actually missing your father.’”

He added: “I love this job and we have a lot of fun but some days I just can’t do the fun.”

Love him or hate him, he’s only human at the end of the day.
