They've kept everyone guessing with their on-again, off-again romance but PDA's don't get any more public than this after Drake bought Rihanna a billboard - yes, an actual billboard.

Sending out his congratulations after Rihanna received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards, RiRi was clearly a fan of Drake's OTT gesture.

With the billboard reading "Congratulations to Rihanna from Drake and Everyone at OVO", Rihanna quickly posted a snap to her Instagram, with the caption: "When he extra" along with a love heart and a trophy emoji.

The very public gesture has fans wondering if the pair are dating again. Although they've never confirmed their romance, they two have been linked for years, with their flirty behaviour during RiRi's Anti World Tour sparking talk they were back together again.

In July, Drake all but declared his love for RiRi onstage, telling concert goers she was, "the most beautiful, talented woman I've ever seen in my life."

With Rihanna set to take the stage at the MTV VMA's on Sunday night US time, who knows who might be by her side on the red carpet?
