Ever wondered why Thor was absent from Captain America: Civil War?

Well, now Marvel has explained his no-show in a funny new mockumentary posted to their Facebook and Twitter.

In the clip, titled Team Thor, it turns out that the Norse god, played by Chris Hemsworth, was just taking a break and needed some "me time."

Apparently Thor moved to Australia to live with an "average sort of everyday guy" called Darryl. The hammer-wielding superhero also tries to get involved with the local community and can be seen helping out a local primary school.

Later on, he can be seen sending an email (with the help of Darryl), writing to Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man, and also Captain America.

"If you have any other problems, please let me know, as I'm not up to much at the minute," he tells them. Too funny!

Mark Gruffalo - who plays The Hulk - also makes a cameo in the hilarious clip.

Hemsworth is currently in Australia filming Thor: Ragnarok.
