Chris Brown just dropped a new single hours after being arrested

Chris Brown has released a new single one day after being arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

The singer released What Would You Do? on Wednesday night (US time).

On Tuesday, Chris was involved in a a nine-hour stand-off with LA police outside his home which resulted in his arrest.

Beauty Queen Baylee Curran claimed he pointed a gun in her face and cursed her out. Police were then called to Chris' Tarzana home during the early hours of the morning.

While his new tune doesn't specifically reference the incident, Chris hinted that new music was on its way in an Instagram video posted before the song was released.

“All this bulls–t, everything going on man, I’m just gonna turn the other cheek. Drop some music,” he said in the clip.

The song also has a heavy Chris-against-the-world theme, featuring lyrics like, "What do you do fightin’ for your life, and no one’s on your side?”

Chris was released on US$250,000 bail.

Mark Geragos, the star's attorney, tweeted shortly after: "Thanks to everyone for their support and well wishes. Chris is out and well. The allegations against him are demonstrably false. (sic)"
