The doco is one of two big productions that focus on the case of the child beauty pageant queen, to mark the 20th anniversary of JonBenét's death in 1996.

Allegations have been thrown around for years about who killed the then six-year-old, with most of them aimed at her parents John and Patsy Ramsey, however there has never been a conviction in the case.

During the trailer, John comments on the persistent allegations saying, "We absolutely felt like we were the victim of a lynch mob lead by the media. There’s no question that the Boulder Police Department believed we were the killers."

A former police officer who worked on the case also features in the trailer.

"I have seen evidence of an intruder. All of us who wanted to pursue the intruder were being removed from the case," he says.

WHOA. That is some heavy stuff.

A&E’s one-off feature explores new information about the case, including DNA evidence that may point directly to who the murderer may be.

“The Killing of JonBenét: The Truth Uncovered” premieres on September 5.
