Cameron Diaz helped Robbie Williams get back together with his wife

Cameron Diaz convinced Robbie Williams to get back together with his wife Ayda Field when they split up.

Yep, we didn’t even realise the Sex Tape star even knew the British singer either!

In an interview with Loose Women in the UK, Ayda revealed she and Robbie decided to call it quits early on in their relationship.

“When we were first going out, we had a break-up… well, we had a couple actually, but this was the final one, and we had broken up,” the 37-year-old American actress confessed.

“I was shooting a show, and he had gone out to the Chateau Marmont, which is this very fancy hotel in LA, and Cameron Diaz was there.”

Apparently, the Rock DJ singer began talking with Cameron, 44, and even divulged about his break-up.

"He said that he was talking to her, and whilst he was talking to her, she said to him, 'You obviously still love your girlfriend. You need to go back to her,' and he called me that night, we met up, and we've been together ever since," Ayda continued.

"A few years later I saw Cameron working out in a gym. I thought about going to say 'Thank you', but she was sweating over a machine and I thought it would seem strange – but it's thanks to her we're back together."

And Ayda also reveals why they were constantly fighting in the beginning of their courtship.

"[Robbie] went to rehab. I was devastated. But at the same time I understood because I could see he needed help. I already loved him. I loved him enough just to want him to be well. I thought that was it ‘right man, wrong time’. Over,” she added.

"I knew it was the right thing [for him to do], but it's very hard."

Robbie and Ayda married in 2010, and have two children, Teddy, three, and Charlie, 23 months.
