Did Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift secretly break up?

It appears there's trouble in paradise for our beloved Hiddleswift.

Not only have the pair NOT been spotted together in recent weeks, but rumours have surfaced about their non-stop bickering and we can't help but think: are they officially O-V-E-R?

From the very beginning, the internet questioned the authenticity of their showmance.

Twitter users accused Swifty of rebounding onto the Thor star after her break-up with Calvin Harris - something Tom was quick to shut down.

"How best to put this? That notion is - look, the truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together and we're very happy. Thanks for asking. That's the truth. It's not a publicity stunt," explained the 35-year-old.

But despite Tom insisting their relationship is genuine, insiders claim that Taylor is questioning if he's in it for love or fame.

"Tom wants their relationship to be public, even asking Taylor to go to the Emmys with him, but Taylor wants to keep her private life private," a source told Daily Mail.

"Tom's need for their relationship to be so public so quickly makes her uncomfortable. She tried to be OK with it in the beginning but fears he is in love with the idea of her and not falling in love with her for the right reasons."

The pair also reportedly had a massive argument in August because of conflicting schedules.

"They weren’t spending as much time together lately," a source told Us Weekly. "It was hard making their schedules work and they were upset they couldn’t see each other."

We guess long-distance love can take its toll on even the most stable of relationships.

And adding to the fact that a total number of eight members of Tay's squad unfollowed Tom on social media within the last couple of months, it seems like the writing is all but on the wall for these star-crossed lovers.

But there's one major clue they're still together.

They both follow each other on Instagram (FYI Tom only follows 11 people) and if there's one way to announce your relationship status in celeb world, it's through social media.

We guess the telltale sign is if Taylor shows up to the Emmy's as Tom's date. Stay tuned...

Meanwhile the graphics team at Sunrise clearly could not care less about Hiddleswift.

Edwina Bartholomew was reading out an entertainment update on the couple when a big 'WHO CARES' flashed up on the screen.

"Thank you very much to the graphics department there," she giggled.

The words 'SO WHAT' also came across the screen, prompting Edwina to declare: "I'm just going to stage a walkout! Someone cares."
