Here's how The Bachelor's Richie explained how many girls he kissed on the show to Alex

He may be now completely loved-up with Alex Nation but The Bachelor's Richie Strahan kissed a lot of women on the show before eventually picking the one.

So how did he explain to Alex just how many times he locked lips with the other contestants while on the show?

According to Richie, Alex was very understanding about his actions while he was on the quest for love.

“There’s a lot of understanding there with Alex," he told The Daily Telegraph.

“There wasn’t a kiss on every first date but I do think you can learn a lot about someone and your connection through a kiss.

“It’s important to know what you’re getting into!”

Richie said he told Alex that kissing countless women was " all part of creating a TV show" and that she should "focus on" the end results.

“There are going to be moments which you both might not like, but at the same time it comes down to how you feel about each other," he said.

Since the show's finale, many hearts have been breaking around Australia for the show's runner-up, Nikki Gogan, with people feeling that Richie picked the wrong winner.

People have also been curious about a man that wasn't on the show - Alex's ex-boyfriend, Tom Barbour.

Since finding out that Alex won The Bachelor and is in a new relationship with Richie, Tom spoke to Be about how he felt now.

"I'm proud of Alex. For what she has achieved," he said.

"I wish her nothing but happiness, both on her new adventure in life and with Richie."

Richie has also hit back at backlash over picking the mother-of-one, claiming on The Project that he couldn't understand people's reservations about the pair.

"I have gone down this pathway twice now in to the hope of falling in love and meeting a remarkable woman," he said on the show, "now I've done that and I've met Alex and followed my heart and people are a little bit upset."

He continued to tell the TV hosts that a lot of people had said things like, "you've made the wrong decision."
