Richie Strahan's latest Instagram pic infuriates fans

Since choosing single mum Alex Nation as his winner on The Bachelor last week, Richie Strahan has received a lot of backlash from fans for his decision.

And sadly it seems, nearly a week on, the pair are still being condemned.

After Richie posted a snap of himself cuddling up to his chosen lady on social media, over 1,000 comments were left by his followers expressing their disgust.

“Everything about this makes me feel sick,” one hater wrote, while another posted, “Just vomited a little.”

“Its funny because it won’t last,” another chimed in said, with one adding, “Have a life of regret.”

But amongst the hate, a lot of the couple’s fans have expressed their support.

“Forget any nasty comments - they are just keyboard cowards who wish they had a love like this,” one fan wrote, with another saying: “Super excited and happy for you both! My guy and I think you are well suited to one another. Congrats and enjoy your future together.”

“Congratulations to u both! People get too involved and opinionated with these TV shows. This is your life and what matters at the end of the day is what you think and feel. Wish u both the best with your journey together. Lovely to see u both so happy and in love [sic].”

On Friday, Richie addressed the online trolls on The Project, revealing he wasn't sure why he had received so much negativity.

"I have gone down this pathway twice now in to the hope of falling in love and meeting a remarkable woman," he said. "Now I've done that and I've met Alex and followed my heart and people are a little bit upset."

He continued say that a lot of people had said things like, "you've made the wrong decision."

However the rope technician said he only had one decision to make, and that was Alex.

Alex also addressed the harmful comments the couple have received on the show.

"At the end of the day this was Richie's journey and he had to follow his heart," she said.
