Brad Pitt's friendship with Marion Cotillard blamed for Angelina split

With Hollywood still reeling from the shock of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's split, numerous theories are being thrown around as to what's caused the end of their two year marriage.

And one such theory is Brad's friendship with French actress Marion Cotillard, who he stars alongside in upcoming spy thriller, Allied.

Scandalous claims made by the New York Post's Page Six claim Ange filed for divorce after hiring a private detective, "because she felt that he was fooling around with her on the set."

According to the source, "It turns out, he was. And that was the final straw."

“He’s in the throes of some insane midlife crisis, and Angie is fed up," adds the insider.

However, despite the film producer’s claims that Marion and Brad's onscreen chemistry was “electric,” the 40-year-old actress is in a very stable relationship with fellow French actor Guillaume Canet, 43.

According to the Daily Mail, the Parisian source said: “Marion and Guillaume are blissfully happy, and these kind of claims are not what Marion wants to be hearing,”

“Claims that she’s cheating on Guillaume with Brad will leave her absolutely devastated. This doesn’t sound like her at all,” the source said.

The mum of one and Brad were said to have had an immediate connection on set of ‘Allied’ said the film's producer, Graham King in an interview with People Magazine last month.

“Brad and Marion immediately had the utmost respect for each other, so once they delved into their characters, their chemistry was electric,” King said.

“It was crucial for Brad and Marion to not only begin rehearsing together before the shoot, but they also spent a lot of time developing their characters with the director, Robert Zemeckis,” King added.

“By the time we got to set, it was really amazing to see these characters already feel lived-in and real.”

In the upcoming film, Brad plays an information officer and the oscar-winning actress plays a French Resistance fighter who fall in love.

This sounds all too familiar of Angelina and Brad’s love story where the pair met and too fell in love on set of the 2005 spy film Mr and Mrs Smith while Pitt was still wedded to Jennifer Aniston.
